OT - compact tractor followup
QUESTION:Forks really make a tractor more versatile, for sure. I made some for my
JD. (Well, I designed 'em and a friend welded them because I do welding as
well as I do plumbing). I simply have a bar that you slide into holders on
top of the bucket loader and the forks attach to it. Simple and works
great.
ANSWER: The quick change tools for the JD loader is ideal. I had the bucket, a
full fledged forklift, a hay prob and a universal tool that had hitch
receiver mounted in the center. I could put a trailer hitch on it and
back my 24',4W wagon in to the barn with 250 bales of hay on it. The
effort to change out these things was nothing, just pull two pins and
get back on the tractor, park the one tool and go over to the other and
hook up, get back off and put the two pins in. Your Kubota has nothing
like this. I had a telescoping drag link that let me back up to a tool
in an approximate location, snap the locks on the drag links and was
able to hook up with out all that moving the tractor up and back and all.
Your Kubota dose not have that either.
I would not have traded my JD for two Kubota. My brother in law had the
Kubota, I had to use it to load the large hay bales on to my trailer at
his place , haul them back to my place and unload them with my JD. There
was so much difference in those two tractors you just could not compare
them.
they call it quick connect or SKID STEER-TYPE QUICK
COUPLER
Skid Steer style quick hitch attachments are simple to use and dependable.
Quick, easy on/off buckets, pallet forks and bale spears need no tools.
Requiring only mounting pins and hose couplers, you can be moving onto the
next task in a matter of minutes.
I had a telescoping drag link that let me back up to a tool
My Kuboa came with telescopic lower link ends on the 3-point hitch.
John Deere wanted an extra $150 for this feature it comes on the Kubota's at
no extra charge.
Kubota's also come with foldable ROPS (Roll-Over Protective Structure)
You can't even get foldable ROPS on the small John Deere's.
