QUESTION:Does anyone have experience with these machines? I have been recently looking at web pages for the Ramrod, Bobcat and Kanga machines among
others. They seem pretty versatile. It's quite a drive to get to where I can actually see one, so is it worth it? I'm looking for
something to help me move snow, gravel, work in the garden. I also need to haul wood (possibly split it on site) up or down some moderate slopes and be versatile around the place.
ANSWER: The advantage of skid steers is that they are much quicker
and require less space to turn. We have found that you
can get as much done with a skid steer as a tractor loader
with a bucket three times the size, for short runs. If you're
moving material quite some distance, the tractor works better.
