QUESTION:First let me thank you all for your posts of support and encouragement. I have
read and appreciated each of them. I cannot overstate how uplifting something
like that is in a time like this. I will never be able to fully express my
gratitude to you all.
Randi went to town (Grants Pass) for business and reported the following:
The traffic is heavy but steady and the roads are lined with heavy equipment.
The Oregon Department of Forestry official at the command center says the lines
are currently being held on the fire. They have all the manpower and equipment
they can use (although nothing has been said about air support) and that the
evacuation areas and schedules are remaining in effect but not expanding.
Hiway 199 is closed from Cave Junction, Oregon to the California Border.
Residents along the corrider are on 48 hour evac. notice.
The bank is glad to take our money.
ANSWER: The suspense must be nearly unbearable. Still hoping for a miracle to
knock this fire down before it damages any more homes.
