New Construction Equipment
QUESTION:How come there isn't any Construction or Heavy Equipment plastic/resin
models?
ANSWER: Probably due to the very narrow focus of construction equipment.
AMT tried years ago, with their Caterpillar D8 bulldozer, even announced a
then-contemporary Traxcavator, both in 1/25 scale.
The D8 (as evidenced by its infrequent reissues) apparently went nowhere, and
the Traxcavator? My guess is, that since it was an announced kit in 1972, but
never done, that not enough "buyers" (those wizened little gnomes who buy model
kits for wholesale warehouses and retail stores) simply did not step up to the
plate.
