Link Belt Construction Equipment
QUESTION:I am considering replacing my v-belt on my bandsaw to a "vibration free"
link belt. Does anyone have one of these that they are using for any type
of machine? Have you seen a difference, is there any merit? I also have
seen one at HF. Anyone know if this one is any good relative to the one
that you can buy at Rockler?
ANSWER: I have a new Jet contractor saw and changed the original belt for a v-belt.
Saw worked well before and there was a slight improvement with the v-belt in
vibration but can't say it made that much of a difference. The sound did
change as another poster suggested. I was actually thinking about moving the
belt to my jointer or bandsaw to see if there was a more significant
improvement there, will be interested in hearing your experience if you make
the change. I don't doubt they help but just didn't see that much change. By
the way, I bought 4 foot of belt from Lee Valley.
