Forklift Train The Trainer
QUESTION:As everyone knows by now, I have spent this summer migrating my SBS2003
system to new hardware, and applying SBS2003 SP1 to both them. This
has been accomplished. I am trying to keep the Exchange databases in
sync by forklift from the source system to the migrated system. I
followed Jeff Middleton's instructions for forklifting from SBS2000 to
SBS2003; which you can review at
http://msmvps.com/blogs/obts/archive/2005/02/09/35514.aspx
Everything works except the public folder database will not mount. But
Outlook will open and the email is all there. Does anybody know what
needs to be tweaked to get the Public Folder database to mount in a
SBS2003 to SBS2003 forklift?
ANSWER: I'll take a moment first to clarify that for anyone who is working from the
book chapter I wrote on Swing Migration, the content of that chapter was cut
for total book page length and that forced the removal of all of the
troubleshooting section (for the entire project path), including the
Exchange "it didn't work, what do I do" parts. The Technician Kit includes
that 16 pg section. After SBS SP1 was released, I wrote an additional
Release Notes reference that since the last time it was updates is now
another 15 pgs, and it does address issues specific to Exchange.
