QUESTION:Just a quick question. This is in an industrial setting, I would like to know
that if I have somebody being raised (in a cage/platform) on a forklift, are
they required to be tied off even though they are in a cage.
ANSWER: The employee(s) in the cage are required to have fall protection if the
cage is over six feet above the floor. In addition, the cage being
lifted by the forklift is required to be secured to the mast (usually
chained) to prevent thr cage from falling from the forks of the lift
truck.
