Forklift Equipment

QUESTION:

What is the equipment class code for the Army's rough terrain 6,000 and 10,000lb forklift? I don't need the nomenclature.

ANSWER:

I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about when you say "equipment class code", but I'll try to give you a brief run-through on what I know about this 'forklift', and hopefully you'll be able to piece together whatever information you need from my summary... If you need any additional information, I'll post a few links under my sources to assist you, as well.

To begin with, this 'forklift' is more commonly known as the All-Terrain Lifter Army System (ATLAS). Contracted by TRAK, this unit will be replacing all units under the SSN of M488 in the years to come. As far as the lift specs go, here is some detailed information on the lifting capacity of the ATLAS: At 21.5 feet, the unit can lift up to 4000 lbs. of equipment. At 13 feet, 6000 lbs. At 4 feet, 10000 lbs.

System data: SSN: M418 LIN: T73347 NSN: 3930-01-471-2886 Top Speed: 23 M.P.H
