QUESTION:Ford Industrial Backhoe/loader will only go forward, unable to get it to go in reverse?
IT is a 1971 Ford 4500 series tractor and i drove it home and it went in reverse 1 time and now i can only get it to go forward it will not back up any ideas on what the problem may be or where i could go to get some ideas/answers
ANSWER: I'll try it...you probably have a toploader transmission.
Make sure the pto is disengaged, if equipped...
also make sure the back hoe is stowed and the legs are all the way up. If it still won't go into reverse,
and there is no grinding (clutch), then a "fork" could be bent in the transmission...
