Cost For Excavator With Operator
QUESTION:I'm having a large amount ( about 1400 yards) of fill trucked to my backyard
to level some of the property. Question: What would be the absolute
highest price that I should be paying per day for a small excavator with an
operator to push the fill around the yard? The job should take three full
days. I live just outside New York City in an area where premium prices are
always paid for any type of construction work.
ANSWER: If your going to hire someone to push dirt with an excavator, you're already
screwed. Use a dozer, unless you HAVE to place the material with an
excavator. As for labor prices, call the Operating Engineers hall and ask
for their wage package costs. If a rat contractor is billing you @ Union
costs, then hire a Union hand/company & go with experience for the equipment
type.
